a little rossini...
when we were children, i loved a cd that my parent's had - it was filled with overtures. we'd run around the house dancing like maniacs and being "conductors". i've never seen a conductor jump off furniture and flap their arms fit to fly...but how else can your properly conduct the "william tell overture"?

oh yeah...and didn' you just love his "cello-face"?
This comment is for T- I actually can play that one on my cello- I even competed with that cello solo. (I didn't play it quite as well as he did admittedly though)
That is still one of my all time favorite CD's and I wish I could find it. And what do you mean everyone doesn't conduct by flying off the couch (next time I'm home alone- I know what I'm doing- don't tell Chris)
A couple days ago, I played a Haydn symphony for Claire and Zach- she didn't appreicate it as much as I would have liked- looks like I have some more indoctrinating to do!
Oh yeah... and it's impossible to play the cello well without a good "cello face!" Nicole says that because she has seen mine...
haha! so true! course all good musicians have a "face"...
Yes, yes...we are all undoubtably impressed. yada.
just kidding...it really is impressive.
so you remember the good old days of running around like mad-esapeckasolonen (or however you say/spell his name)-wannabes? full on integration of conducting/interpretive dance/aerobics. with lots of giggling.
kudos on the hadyn. and on still playing your cello. i've been thinking alot lately about getting out my extremely dusty viola and jammin. (this would take some music-aforethought as my viola is at mom's).
what was the name of that piano book you said i should get to start teaching hannah?
